The Wheel of Time - Season 1 is a project I had the chance to lead in MPC back in 2021 with an A-Team of artists (Eleanor Follows, Laura Scott and Alberto Crocicchio in mind) and the support of an incredible DMP Team. With the help of Oliver Winwood who supervised the show, I was in charge of the whole Fal Dara environment surrounding the Fal Dara city in the center and the Tarwin's Gap. Coming from Lisey's Story, a previous show where we tried a fully procedural environment done with USD and Houdini (thanks to Julien Bolbach), we decided to used and pushed the system even further for this show. The USD pipeline at MPC was still in development and in early stage at this time. We encountered a lot of issue and problematic that we had to deal with. But we managed to end up with some nice shots, thanks to the fabulous team of lighting (Lead by Dan Dindarov and Supervised by Adam Cheshire) who helped to sell the environment better than no one.
